Senior Accountant – Business Advisory Services

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our Business Advisory Services (BAS) team at PKF Kendons.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with a wide range of clients and delivering practical, hands-on support to help businesses succeed. You’ll be part of a friendly and supportive team, in a role that offers plenty of variety, responsibility, and the chance to grow your career.

What the role involves:

  • Preparing and reviewing financial statements, tax returns, reconciliations, and special purpose reports for companies, trusts, partnerships, and individuals
  • Providing clients with timely, practical business advice
  • Developing strong working relationships with clients and maintaining regular contact
  • Assisting with projects such as business plans, KPI reporting, and management accounts
  • Liaising with the IRD on behalf of clients
  • Using Excel and cloud-based systems like Xero to support efficient and accurate reporting
  • Staying up to date with current accounting and compliance standards
  • Providing guidance and support to junior team members

What we’re looking for:

  • A qualified CA (or working towards CA)
  • 4+ years’ experience in accounting, preferably in a public practice setting
  • Strong Excel and Word skills
  • Experience with Xero and other cloud-based systems
  • A proactive approach and the ability to work independently
  • Good communication skills and a willingness to build strong internal and external relationships
  • Strong time management and the ability to meet deadlines in a busy environment
