The Three Freedoms philosophy covers the:
- Freedom of Time
- Freedom of Money; and
- Freedom of Mind
Misalignment of one, or all of these freedoms can mean resentment, lack of enjoyment, or perhaps ‘I’m over it’ feelings.
Typically, when there is misalignment, we’ll focus on one freedom at a time to improve, with the goal of having all three freedoms aligned to hit the sweet spot of enjoyment.
The Freedom of Time
The old saying is “time is money”. But, really, time is a “feel good” currency and feeling like a slave to the business can enlist thoughts such as ‘it’s just not worth it’. The business is there to serve you, not the other way around. Freeing up time from your business may be done by deploying things such as; automation, outsourcing, identifying time leaks (where time is wasted), improving efficiencies, or simply asking “is that a good use of my time”?
The Freedom of Money
The freedom to be able to pay wages, debtors, invest in equipment or training – they’re all very real constraints. From a personal perspective, do you have the means to do the things you want with the time you have.
Setting a plan around how to improve your financial situation is the first step. Starting with an initial review, and then looking at tactics such as; budgeting, reducing expenses, reviewing pricing and margins, recovering outstanding debt. These tactics and more are topics Kendons can advise and assist with.
The Freedom of Mind
Worrying about the IRD, worrying about spending enough time with the family, worrying about general mental and physical wellbeing (hello burn out), or if you’re spending enough time strategising about the business. Again, they’re all very common challenges. Kendons has practical solutions to assist with creating Freedom of Mind.
Talking about the Three Freedoms and addressing one freedom at a time is a roadmap to harnessing the “Three Freedoms” in business and life!. Let’s work together and get into that sweet spot of time, money and mind.
