Yes, you heard that right! For the next few months, our office will be closing at 12:30 pm every Friday.

At PKF Kendons, we’re more than just a team—we’re a family. And like any family, we always look out for each other. That’s why we’re taking a bold step towards better work-life balance by trying out a 4.5 day work week. Yes, you heard that right! For the next few months, our office will be closing at 12:30 pm every Friday.

Why we’re trialling a 4.5 day work week:

  1. Living Our Values

Our core values aren’t just words on a wall; they guide everything we do. We’ve been dreaming about moving towards a 4.5 day work week for a while now. Why? Because we deeply value family and personal time. This trial gives us a chance to walk the talk, putting our team’s mental and physical well-being front and centre.

  1. Keeping the Pace

Changing our work schedule doesn’t mean slowing down. We’re committed to keeping our pace of work steady, delivering the same high-quality service you’ve come to expect from us. According to a study by the 4 Day Week Global Foundation, a shorter work week can actually boost productivity. We’re excited to put this theory to the test!

  1. Giving More for Less

Our team is our greatest asset, and we believe in rewarding their hard work. That’s why we’re offering 100% pay for 90% time, with the expectation of maintaining 100% output. In other words, we’re asking our team to work smarter, not longer.

  1. Measuring Success

How will we know if our 4.5 day work week is successful? By measuring against our targets, objectives, and the goals of our team. We’ll keep a close eye on our KPIs, company culture, and numbers throughout the trial. Our aim is to create a win-win situation where our team is happier and our clients are well-served.

We wanted to share our journey towards a 4.5 day work week because we think it’s a fantastic idea that might pique your interest. We believe that this innovative, research-backed initiative can transform the way we all work and live, making room for the things that truly matter.

We invite you to ask us about our experience—we’re more than happy to chat about it and maybe even inspire you to consider a similar approach in your business. After all, we’re all in this together, navigating the world of work and seeking a better balance. We can’t wait to see where this journey takes us!

So there it is, our leap towards building a happier, healthier, and more balanced PKF Kendons family. Here’s to a brighter, lighter Friday afternoon and a weekend that starts a little bit earlier!
